Project objectives

The goal of our project is to help social and sustainable businesses develop the digital storytelling competences.

By improving your digital communication skills, your business will be able to scale your social and environmental impact across borders and contribute to a transition towards a circular economy.

Expected results

Enhanced Digital Storytelling Skills: Social enterprises will gain the ability to effectively communicate their missions through engaging digital stories, increasing their reach to clients, investors, and partners.

Increased Visibility: Sustainable businesses will experience heightened visibility and recognition across international markets, boosting their opportunities for collaboration and growth.

Advancement of Sustainability Goals: By raising awareness of the social and environmental challenges these enterprises address, the project will foster greater support for sustainable business models and practices within the EU.

Economic Empowerment of Vulnerable Groups: Social enterprises that support vulnerable groups will see increased economic participation, contributing to a more inclusive and resilient society.

Cross-border Collaboration: The partnership between the Netherlands and Bulgaria will provide mutual learning opportunities, encouraging the sharing of innovative business practices and technological solutions that promote sustainability.

Setting a benchmark: By sharing the results with educators, businesses, and social enterprises across the EU, this project will set a benchmark for the use of digital storytelling to scale the impact of sustainable enterprises.

International Round Table

International Round Table Discussion: “Addressing Communication Challenges of Social Businesses with Digital Storytelling” explores communication challenges of sustainable businesses. We discuss how digital storytelling can help to overcome these challenges.

Online Workshops

Online Workshops “Mastering Digital Storytelling for Sustainable Social Enterprises” develop practical digital storytelling skills of social enterprises to effectively communicate their missions and scale their impact. Workshops sessions cover the art of storytelling, leveraging digital platforms, and measuring impact.

Webinar

Webinar “Digital Storytelling for Social Impact” summarises the results of the workshops and shares success stories of how digital storytelling can drive social impact; discusses case studies and shares best practices and digital storytelling tools.

With competition from traditional businesses, social enterprises need to differentiate themselves. Through digital storytelling, they can humanize their brand and illustrate how they address societal issues uniquely. Narratives that evoke emotions—joy, empathy, or even concern—help social enterprises create a distinct brand identity. Visual storytelling is effective for building connections, with platforms like Instagram, Facebook, and YouTube enabling rich, multi-sensory narratives that stick in the audience’s mind.
