Our project responds to the growing threat of online misinformation and its potential to contribute to polarisation and radicalisation among vulnerable adults. We support adult educators, trainers, and community leaders with practical learning methods and digital tools to strengthen critical thinking, media literacy, and resilience to online manipulation across Europe.

Our Results

Online course for adult educators

Misinformation is not only about false information. It is also about how we think, what we feel, whom we trust, and how we interact with others. This course gives adult educators practical knowledge and tools to understand these processes and address misinformation in their own educational practice.

By the end of the course, you will have both a stronger understanding of the psychology and social dynamics of misinformation and practical methods that you can use with adult learners, volunteers and community groups.

The Manual for Adult Educators

5 learning modules with practical, ready-to-use exercises that you can adapt to your own learners and educational setting. The modules cover: misinformation and manipulation techniques; cognitive biases; emotions and social influences; dialogue and resilience; and fact-checking, prebunking and digital competences.

Final Combat: Interactive Game Against Misinformation

Final Combat is an interactive, browser-based game designed to help adult learners recognise and resist online misinformation. Instead of simply learning about disinformation, players practise their skills through realistic scenarios and make decisions about how to respond to suspicious content. Each choice is followed by immediate feedback explaining the manipulation technique involved.

Key Elements:

Across five missions set in different European cities, players develop skills in fact-checking, source verification, recognising cognitive biases, identifying AI-generated content and deepfakes, and understanding echo chambers and online manipulation. Six expert characters guide players through different approaches to analysing information.

Participants explored some of the most urgent challenges facing democratic societies today: the rise of AI-powered deep fakes, increasing social polarisation, the tension between misinformation control and freedom of speech, and the role of adult educators in preserving safe spaces for democratic dialogue, critical thinking, and respectful disagreement.
